Indian Creek

3 days. 75 family, friends, and friends of family I don't even know. No cell phone reception. Decades of tradition. The first weekend of April my family joins together on our property in the foothills outside Sacramento for The Chaix Family Picnic. I don't even know how long this tradition has been going on but I can say that it has only been a half dozen times in my life that I have missed it. This was not one of those years. I had such a blast hanging out with my family, relaxing in the warm weather, and even getting to see the Mathison family who joined us for the day. A few pics here and more are saved on my Flickr account (link to the right).

My mom and Cassidy "The Face" Craig.

The Mathison Family (and no, no one actually sleeps in the tepee).

Kel and Reese.

thanks for inviting us!! That is a great picture of your mom. You have such a warm family Chanda... I can see why you wouldn't want to miss out on any time spent with them.

It looks like you guys had such a good time. I am bummed that we missed out. I love the pictures that you took they look like they belong in a J.Crew catalog. My favorite is the one of Reese in the pink tutu with dirt on her face it just captures her perfectly. Hope to see you soon.
