Meet Lucy

I finally did it. After 2 years of living near the water I finally bought a beach cruiser. She is spectacular! This now begins the barrage of posts related to trips taken on my bike.

Vacation, Days 2 - 4

Tuesday and Wednesday this week were spend on the beaches of Lake Tahoe with my mom. We got to have a wonderful dinner at Sunnyside with my friend Dave who is working in Tahoe, sandwiches from PDQ in Tahoma, and plenty of time relaxing, reading, and people watching on the beach. The weather was great!

Thursday my mom and I went to the Nevada County Fair with my aunt, cousins, and grandma. I must confess that I LOVE county fairs and have had the pleasure of visiting two in the last few weeks. I had a blast riding the Super Slide with my cousins Jarrett and Tyler, got the famous cinnamon rolls to take home, and ran into my nephew Justus who was running around with one of his friends. Overall, vacation has been quite a success. Starting to get worried that I am going to have a hard time adjusting to a full work week again. Guess I will put off thinking about that until reality hits on Monday.

Vacation, Day 1

If today is any indication of how this weeks vacation will go then I have a week of blessing ahead of me. After a late night and very little sleep I was quickly on my way up to Sacramento. My parents and I went down to have lunch with my Grandpa Chaix, who impresses me with each and every day with how well he is doing. Moving at the speed of a 91 year old set this vacation off on a good note. We had a leisurely lunch, picked some fruit from the tree behind the house, traveled up to Auburn where we took a quad ride over to see my Gregersen Grandparents, picking up my niece on the way. Noteworthy observations from today: it takes just a couple hours of hanging out with my parents to understand completely where I get my humor and sarcasm, my brother is quite the farmer with an impressive vegetable garden, and changing up the pace of life from time to time is very healthy. Here are some pics from the day:

Picking nectarines (YUM!).

He was pretty impressed with my arm-stretching camera skills.
