Indian Creek

3 days. 75 family, friends, and friends of family I don't even know. No cell phone reception. Decades of tradition. The first weekend of April my family joins together on our property in the foothills outside Sacramento for The Chaix Family Picnic. I don't even know how long this tradition has been going on but I can say that it has only been a half dozen times in my life that I have missed it. This was not one of those years. I had such a blast hanging out with my family, relaxing in the warm weather, and even getting to see the Mathison family who joined us for the day. A few pics here and more are saved on my Flickr account (link to the right).

My mom and Cassidy "The Face" Craig.

The Mathison Family (and no, no one actually sleeps in the tepee).

Kel and Reese.

HTH 5

As many of you may know, March to me represents more than just the changing of seasons, the blooming of flowers, and the preparation of income taxes. To me, March holds one of the best traditions with some of the greatest friends. HTH (Hotter Than Hell) is an annual trip to not only cheer on the Angels at Spring Training but a time to consume some amazing food, listen to unique and thoughtfully composed road trip CDs, and spend time soaking in the sun with friends. This year, HTH 5 did not disappoint. We were able to see the Angels defeat the Cubs, Diamondback, and (sad to say) the Giants. I have included some pics on my Flickr account if you're interested in seeing some highlights. And until next year, I raise my glass (of Fat Tire, of course) to the fearless crew who makes March the month to look forward to! 11 months to go until HTH 6.

Shallow Thoughts

I realized today that I find it so much more disappointing to be let down by someone I find really attractive. For example, it was so much more of a let down today that the hottie at Verizon couldn't fix my cell phone compared to any other average guy. He had such potential to be hot AND save the day. Such a waste of such cuteness.
